Dr Theodoros B. Grivas is the chief editor of “Scoliosis”, the official journal our society. He is working, together with the editorial board, to improve the rating of the journal, which has already an unofficial impact factor of 1.31. This is very good after such a short period since his inauguration. The next steps are to obtain an official impact factor, and to succeed a rapidly increase in the number of published papers. To do this we need the cooperation of all SOSORT members, who are kindly invited to submit papers for consideration, and possibly publication. Moreover, this step is required in order to become an active member.

Dear Patrick, Colleagues & Friends,

My congratulations to you all again for what appears to be a fantastic meeting in Barcelona.

The minutes only reflect that I was absent, but I hope that Manuel and Stefano shared with you my deep regret for not being able to be with you for this meeting. I truly missed you all, and am sorry for my absence. I am proud of SOSORT as a parent is of their child. There have been some growing pains, but SOSORT is maturing well into a leading society who will make life better for patients.

I thank Toru for being our President this past year, and think that our collective recognition and gratitude should be reflected in the minutes.

I also congratulate Fabio on being elected our next Treasurer, and for Jean Claude being voted our President Elect. There is also no doubt that under Stefano's Presidency this year SOSORT will reach new levels along its great journey.

Finally, I will very much miss not being on the Board with you all in the coming year. I am grateful for being able to serve with you in the creation and direction of SOSORT, and hope that my input has helped. I wish you all well.

Dr Grivas was honored by the SRS Non-Operative committee chair to present at Chicago 2012 the topic entitled: “Non-operative management of AIS - the SOSORT approach to brace treatment”.
